This handsome young fella is adorable in real life and so loving and gentle.
I painted Shanmugham along with Mallipoo at the request of Vandana as a 21st birthday gift for her son.
The eyes appear warmer in this portrait than they do in the reference image. This is because the angle of the light makes them appear yellower in the reference image. They are warmer in real life. Vandana wanted me to add more white to the snout as well, in keeping with his current appearance.
The phone camera is just not able to do justice to the true colours, as you can see with all the colour variations in the various images :-/

It has been quite a while since I painted a dog portrait, actually, a while since I painted any animal portrait.
