Isn’t that the cutest name 🙂 What a beauty.
I painted Mallipoo on request from Vandana as a 21st birthday gift for her son.
The reference image was not very clear, particularly around the eyes, so I did a quick sketch to see if I could pull out enough detail. You can swipe to see that sketch. The eyes have been rendered with Sharpies for a quick vibe check.
I love how it turned out. The moistness of the tongue… If it were not a commission, I would probably have added some drool 🙂
It has been quite a while since I painted a dog portrait, actually, a while since I painted any animal portrait.
