This is a gift from Jeena – daughter to her mother on aunty’s 70th birthday. I worked from multiple photographs but the base picture was one where aunty is leaning back on a chair. The expression was really great but gravity tends to add weight to the lower portion of the jaw. So that little contour correction was necessary. As always Jeena and I had a few video calls to show progress and nail down details. I loved that Jeena wanted a bright background and was open to my adding flowers to the portrait. I love the vibe it gives the finished piece. I do hope aunty likes her surprise present 🙂
