I am enjoying this new series of sketched paintings, for want of a better word. I love the spontaneity…
I love how the face of the man emerges from the very saturated background. That the background is also my work is truly satisfying. I can use my love of recycling and upcycling and take it to the next level yet again.
This next series is painted on post-production waste paper from my foray into digital printing for my product line on @studio.artbyaarohi
Art is somewhat of a commodity for the person buying it, but it is an expression of self for the person making it. The trick for an artist is to try and stay true to oneself and not further commodify the art in the hopes of selling it…
…but I got to make a living.

I try and do that by not thinking of selling it when I am in the process of making it. Post that if it stands up to my scrutiny, then I put it out there for someone like-minded to connect with it and take it home 🙂
