Helmet custom painted for @DilipLalwani
.
I got used to working on a bare shell as I used to for @royalenfield. It is way easier than first sanding and scraping the paint off a new helmet. But then I think RE and @sachinc45 spoilt me a little. 🙂
.
This helmet was a brand new one with a beautiful matt black finish that Bobby Singh of @olddelhimotorcycles wanted me to change to a particular shade of off-white. That meant a lot of prep work beforehand and multiple coats of primer with varied brushes for texture.
I thought I would share a few images to show you the process and of course a few closeups of the details on the helmet. All the text was written right at the end.
.
After masking and sanding areas on the helmet I got work. We meticulously went back and forth on the imagery and references, right down to the shades of color to use. As always all the imagery used has very specific memory and meaning attached to both the recipient and the giver. I really like how it turned out.
.
I finished this helmet and sent it onwards where it reached @gaicraft who further worked on custom leatherwork on the sunshade of the helmet.
